Port Macquarian’s enjoy all things lifestyle, travel and wellness at inaugural expo
More than 500 retirees made their way through the latest SEASONS 50+ lifestyle, travel and wellness expo at the popular Port Macquarie Panthers on Saturday 22nd October.
The large variety of local exhibitors such as Patterson Real Estate and Port Macquarie Travel, as well as national representation from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, National Hearing Care and Jenny Craig offered attendees a great opportunity to make connections and gather information to enhance their lifestyle choices.
Also, several local community groups including the Lions Club, the Scale Modellers, the Hastings Bonsai Group and Mid North Coast Porcelain Painters provided a little inspiration for those looking to take up a hobby.
“A key focus of the Expo was to provide accessible yet interesting and relevant information important to the local over 50s community. It was a very engaging experience for everyone – even the exhibitors enjoyed connecting with each other”, says Elyce Bichel, SEASONS Event Manager.
Throughout the day presentations by guest speakers and interactive demonstrations provided guests with a break from the usual expo activities. Bonsai for beginners gave a pruning and re-potting demo, the Founder of Conscious Connection, Emma Priestly, gave a candid and heartfelt talk on ‘The Empty Nest Illusion – it’s time to honour yourself’, and Elders Real Estate answered audience questions on whether to downsize or to not downsize.
The Expo included a creative twist where attendees ‘left their mark’ on the SEASONS tree mural, inspired by our logo. By painting their finger and pressing it on the canvas attendees added the leaves to the tree. The simple activity proved a delight with many guests sharing stories of them finger painting as a child.
The SEASONS Network team hope to bring the Expo back to Port Macquarie in 2017 along with more engaging and unique event experiences. A special thanks to Panthers Port Macquarie for their valuable sponsorship for the event.
